With no offseason trading allowed, and with the extended gap between the auction in February and the Opening Day, the first run of FAAB always triggers a large number of bids.
Usually, we avoid the crush and save our cash, but last year we invested $117 (out of a budget of $150) on the first run of FAAB, which secured Seiya Suzuki to the European Franchise roster. It is unlikely that such a talent will appear after the auction this year.
